Ok so i have a toshiba laptop with a built in webcam and microphone and i like to use this to record some guitar playing i do. At first it was at an okay level but could be louder so i plugged in a microphone but that made it worse so i took it out.i thentried playing around with some of the settings but didnt help either.
I then bought a pickup for my acoustic to plug in an amp to make my playing louder. There are no connections from this to my laptop, this is just a way i thought my laptop could record louderif the music i was playing was louder. However when playing back what i've done it sounds even quieter than when i didn't use the amp in the first place and if i don't use the amp you can barely even hear a single note.sorry for the lengthy writing, just thought i'd give some background info, so to cut a long story short, how do I restore the settings to default. Lastly to get the options i messed around with, when i plug in headphones it opens up a page about speakersand microphone settings. This is where i was messing around with the options.thank you in advanced. Cheers for the quick response, just a quick question about the levels and audacity.
Including getting a dual battery fitted so the main battery will never die but you can still have an electric hookup. Ford econovan maxi parts manual. It has taken us all over Australia in the last 18 months and has never let us down.
What are the defaults on the microphone level tabs, microphone is on 60 and boost is on 0. What is the difference between the two?also with audacity, i understand its used to record but would i have to film myself playing, then put the audacity recording over the top of the video replacing the music that was from the webcam recording? Lastly would this be in sync with me playing. Sorryfor the awkwardness, i just film myself doing it as proof that its me playing:P not that its anything incredibly amazing. Hi,Boost raises the signal strength by the DB shown in the box ajusted by the slider. Some mic's and other output devices use very low signal strenghts outputs so thesensitivity has to be higher.
On home stereo amps the Phono sensitivity ismuch higher than the Tape, CD/DVD, or most others. Thats because turntablesand their cartridges do not output a strong signal. So the mic input allows youto boost the sensitvity to a signal as needed depending on the output of anyconnected device.
