Hi, so I decided to bring my old Wii back to life so here’s what I did:Updated the Wii to 4.3UUsed the LetterBomb exploitInstalled the homebrew channelInstalled BootMii as boot2 and an IOSBacked up my NAND (only two bad blocks!)Installed Priiloader and blocked updated and disc updatesInstalled cIOS and used the recommendations from the CSG This is where I ended. I am new to Wii hacking (but not hacking in general) so I have a few questions. What are IOS?

On this post is showed how to install Rapid SCADA on a Touchberry B3 PI 10.1″, BananaTouch Octacore M3 10.1″, BananaTouch M64 10.1″ and TouchBerry Pi B3 7″ IN/OUT.These products use an official Raspberry Pi 3 or an official Banana Pi products. These products have installed a Linux Debian Jessie. Free linux scada software.

How do I know what to put on what number, because I keep finding guides for different things that use different numbers. What are wads? I want to install some things but I’m not sure how these operate.I want to install USB Loader GX - how should I go about doing that and using the forwarding channel as I keep seeing recommended.Besides that what else should I do/install?Also I tried to install WiiMC to play DVD’s but I got an error. How can I tell if my Wii can play DVD’s?Thanks in advance!EDIT 1:Here is my current syscheck, is there anything else I should do?SysCheck HDE v2.4.0 HacksDen Edition by JoostinOnline DoubleA R2-D2199 and Nano.runs on IOS58 (rev 6176).Region: NTSC-USystem Menu 4.3U (v513)Priiloader installedDrive date: Homebrew Channel 1.1.2 running on IOS58Hollywood v0x11Console ID: 76366394Console Type: WiiShop Channel Country: United States (49)Boot2 v4Found 84 titles.Found 48 IOS on this console.

Okay, I'll do my best to answer all your questions, but it's always good to get more than one opinion on the things. Mine is just one, I would recommend a little more research before actually doing anything.IOS's are what your Wii runs on.

When running Homebrew applications, you need cIOS's, or Custom IOS's. They will change certain things to make your Wii and your Homebrew applications work together.

What to install all depends on what you want to do. I will reference some cIOS's later for different applications. One thing most websites and videos won't tell you that I would reccomend is getting the most recent revisions of cIOS's, as they are the least troublesome.Wads are more or less Wii Channels. You install a wad file, you get a Wii Channel. I don't know what you want to install, but you usually have to use a wad manager, and I would recommend looking for tutorials for your specific wads. The forwarding channel is actually not recommended anymore. These Wii things have settled down now, but they used to change all the time. You HAVE to watch the dates of what your watching and reading.

I got myself in a sticky situation because I followed an old tutorial, and it took me 4 months to fix. Again, you'll want to look up tutorials, but ultimately look for things from 2013-14 and beyond. You'll need cIOS's for this, and d2x cIOS installer is reccomended. Again lookup something like 'How to install USB loader GX', find something recent, and that should be good.I honestly Homebrewed 100% for USB Loader GX, but if your into emulating older systems I'd take a look at Nintendont.I don't know too much about WiiMC, but I'd say you need different cIOS's. All Wii's can play DVDs, its just about setting them up for it. Thank you for the detailed response. I appreciate it.So whenever I want to install a homebrew app I have to stage the app into the /apps folder and then install it to an IOS?

I have d2x installed and installed something in 249/250. I keep seeing 58 for something online. And I’m pretty sure BootMii is installed there somewhere too. Also, does this mean I can only have 250 apps (not wanting more, just curious).I’ve also just read about Wiimmfi and want to install that. Which cIOS should I use for that?Is there a recommended WAD manager? I found YAWM which seems pretty full featured, but I’d rather just work with the best.I think I’ve installed USB Loader GX (I dragged it to /apps and I installed the cIOS that the CSG recommended from d2x).

Homebrew wii

It launches and I can go through all the settings. I’ll try a game in a little. Why isn’t the forwarding channel recommended, it seems like a nice solution.Lastly I haven’t gotten into GameCube yet but I probably will/emulation. I assume emulators are straight forward. I look into Nintendont.

Thanks for the info, I think I've figured out the SD layout/how it works with cIOS. I installed the latest USB Loader GX forwarder and it all worked well! Here is my syscheck - any thoughts/things I should do?SysCheck HDE v2.4.0 HacksDen Edition by JoostinOnline DoubleA R2-D2199 and Nano.runs on IOS58 (rev 6176).Region: NTSC-USystem Menu 4.3U (v513)Priiloader installedDrive date: Homebrew Channel 1.1.2 running on IOS58Hollywood v0x11Console ID: 76366394Console Type: WiiShop Channel Country: United States (49)Boot2 v4Found 84 titles.Found 48 IOS on this console.
